"Build A Bike was the light of my life!   We have been open for almost 14 years."  ... founder, Nancy Morris

Build A Bike was just a vision in September of 1994.  Six weeks later.... after borrowing $15,000 and accepting donations of everything from pegboard to tamales...Build a Bike opened it's doors on October 15th, 1994.
I have seen boys get out of gangs, go back to school,  go to college, become exceptional athletes,  have their own families, become an asset to their community, follow their dreams, and open  businesses themselves!
Build A Bike has been featured in over a dozen National Magazines, and done things for our community that few will ever know about.
Build A Bike has always encouraged the youth in our community.  My dreanm is that Build A Bike will continue to care, encouraging our youth to believe that  nothing is impossible, and that no obsticle is too large to tackle.  With my website I will continue to recognize all of you who build bikes, and  I will support BMX Freestyle rider's RIGHT TO RIDE!

Build A Bike was based on these principles... We are anti-gang, anti-drug, we stay in school, and we try to do the right things.

"I have been proud to share in the lives of some of Phoenix's most outstanding young men."

with love....Nancy Morris, founder of Build A Bike...1994-2008 1/2 ...retired 8/08 due to my continuous fight with Multiple Sclerosis.

Build A Bike has been sold to Corri & Janie Buchholz  build-a-bike@hotmail.com

Why I founded ,and stayed at Build A Bike  for almost 14 years... (Some wonder :- }

Hey Nancy, I wanted to tell you how much of an impact you've made in my life as far as giving me a place to learn how to fix bikes, and hooking me up with parts and such. But just showing me compassion and kindness even after people had made attempts to jade you and the shop. You are an awesome lady and you will always hold a place in my heart as the mother of my passion for bikes. You'll always be in my prayers.

Build A Bkie has new owners.

If you enjoy our site, please help us continue showing your bikes, and projects.
